Eric has 40 years of experience in the energy industry, beginning with uranium exploration in the late 1970’s and then shifting to oil and gas exploration and production throughout the 80’s and early 90’s. He then managed renewable energy and energy efficiency projects and programs for 25 years with the DOE. Eric’s primary work at DOE was developing R&D Funding Opportunity Announcements, managing national merit review panels for project selection, and then awarding and managing projects through completion. He was heavily focused on geothermal technology development and was the prime integrator of DOE Golden Field Office disciplines such as Project Management, Procurement, Legal and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to award more than $400M in geothermal projects during the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

Mr. Hass has a BS in Geology from the University of Texas at Austin, MS in Geology from Stephen F. Austin State University, and MA in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver. Living in the Pacific Northwest provides him ample opportunity to enjoy skiing, Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP), and road and gravel bike riding.
